How to Fix PrimeOS Black Screen After Installation and Boot Errors
Hey guys, I just finished installing PrimeOS on my old laptop to try and get some mobile gaming done. Everything seemed to go fine with the installer, but when I reboot and select PrimeOS from the boot menu, I just get a permanent black screen. Sometimes it shows a little bit of text like a terminal, but then it just hangs there forever. I'm dual-booting with Windows 10. Did I miss a step or is my hardware just not compatible?

This is a classic 'GPU Handshake' issue or a Virtualization mismatch. If you are on a Virtual Machine (like VirtualBox), make sure you change the OS type to 'Other/Unknown 64-bit'—the default Linux settings often cause that hang.

If you're on real hardware, try this: when the GRUB menu pops up, hit 'e' to edit the boot command. Look for the line that says quiet and add nomodeset or androidboot.hwaccel=0 right after it. This forces the OS to boot using basic video drivers. Once you're in, you can update your graphics drivers or check if your BIOS is set to UEFI or Legacy—PrimeOS often prefers Legacy mode on older machines!
